Ruling 1145 — Prayer (Ṣalāh)

Based on obligatory precaution, it is not permitted for one to voluntarily break an obligatory prayer. However, there is no problem if one does so to protect property or prevent financial or physical harm. In fact, there is no problem [if one breaks an obligatory prayer] for any religious or worldly purpose that is of importance to him.
