Ruling 1427 — Prayer (Ṣalāh)
If a person does not recite Sūrat al-Ḥamd and the other surah thinking that the imam is in the first or second rakʿah, and after rukūʿ he realises that it was the third or fourth rakʿah, his prayer is valid. However, if he realises this before rukūʿ, he must recite Sūrat al-Ḥamd and the other surah; and if he does not have enough time, he must act according to Ruling 1422 mentioned earlier.
