Ruling 1833 — The One-Fifth Tax (Khums)

If a person pays khums on lawful property that has become mixed with unlawful property and later realises that the quantity of unlawful property was more than the khums, he must give the extra quantity that he knows was more than khums as ṣadaqah on behalf of its owner.
