Ruling 2362 — Deposit (Wadīʿah) and Trust (Amānah)

If the safe keeper has to travel, he can keep the deposit with his family unless safeguarding the deposit is dependent on him being with it. In that case, he must not travel, or he must return the deposit to its owner, the owner’s executor (waṣī), or the owner’s agent, or he must inform them [about his travel].
