Ruling 2683 — Vow (Nadhr) and Covenant (ʿAhd)

If a father or mother vows to marry his/her daughter to a sayyid[7] or someone else, their vow with respect to their daughter is not valid, and it does not place any responsibility (taklīf) on her.
